Research and Technological Innovation
Applied research has always been central to HCRDI’s development. The company has built an innovation network comprising national, provincial and industry-level research platforms, key laboratories, industrial-scale testing facilities and digital R&D systems. Its research infrastructure includes more than 400 sets of analytical, testing and experimental equipment, together with over 50 industrial testing platforms.
HCRDI’s research activities cover cement science, pyroprocessing and calcination, grinding, green and low-carbon technologies, emissions control, intelligent manufacturing and functional materials. The company places particular emphasis on industrial validation and commercialization. Through an integrated process linking research, engineering design, testing, manufacturing and industrial application, it accelerates the transition of new technologies from the laboratory to full-scale production.
HCRDI’s research outcomes have been applied in areas such as oxy-fuel combustion with carbon capture, suspension calcination, ultra-low-energy grinding, alternative fuels, co-processing and utilization of industrial solid waste, ultra-low emissions, digital engineering and smart mining. These technologies help customers respond to rising energy costs, carbon-reduction targets, resource constraints and increasingly stringent environmental requirements.
Advanced Equipment
Drawing on more than 70 years of cement-process research and industrial experience, HCRDI has developed a portfolio of proprietary core equipment covering the principal stages of cement production. Its technologies and equipment are suitable for clinker production lines ranging from 700 to 14,000 tonnes per day.

The portfolio includes roller presses, vertical mills, pyroprocessing and thermal equipment, bulk-material handling systems, environmental protection equipment, automation and metering systems, wear- and heat-resistant materials, and steel structures. By integrating process research, equipment design, intelligent manufacturing and industrial application, HCRDI can supply both individual machines and complete systems configured around each customer’s capacity targets, energy-efficiency requirements, raw-material characteristics, emissions limits and maintenance needs.
HCRDI equipment is also used in mining, metallurgy, power generation, coal, chemicals and environmental applications. Its advanced equipment manufacturing facilities employ automated production, digital management and cloud-enabled control systems to enhance manufacturing accuracy, quality traceability and delivery efficiency, providing a solid foundation for reliable long-term operation.
Engineering Design and Project Services
HCRDI has an integrated engineering and project management team covering mining, raw materials, process engineering, machinery, architecture, structural engineering, electrical and automation systems, site planning and logistics, water supply and drainage, HVAC, and environmental engineering.

The company provides lifecycle services ranging from feasibility studies and engineering design to equipment selection, procurement management, construction management, commissioning, performance ramp-up and operational optimization. It is capable of delivering projects in accordance with applicable European, U.S. and IEC standards. The use of BIM, three-dimensional collaborative design, digital design review, intelligent schedule and quality management, and digital handover improves design accuracy, project transparency and coordination among all parties.
In addition to greenfield cement plants, HCRDI provides upgrade solutions for existing facilities, including capacity enhancement, energy-efficiency improvement, decarbonization, emissions-control retrofits and digital transformation. These services are designed to help customers improve plant performance and competitiveness while making effective use of existing assets and controlling capital expenditure.
International Operations and Customer Services
HCRDI has accumulated extensive international experience across more than 20 countries. It has participated in over 70 major EP and EPC projects and completed engineering design work for more than 210 overseas projects, building a strong track record across South and Southeast Asia, the Middle East, Africa, Russia and Central Asia, and the Americas.
Through five international service regions and a network of local operations, HCRDI organizes project delivery around the laws, regulations, technical standards, climate conditions, raw-material and fuel characteristics, and supply-chain environments of individual markets. Its international services include on-site technical assistance, plant commissioning, performance optimization, remote diagnostics, spare-parts coordination, personnel training, and long-term operations and maintenance support.
By combining local service capabilities with its global technical resources, HCRDI seeks to respond more quickly, reduce operational risks and create lasting value for its customers. Its objective is to build partnerships that extend beyond the delivery of a single project and support customers throughout the operating life of their plants.
